Sealed products: what to know

1 minute read

A sealed collector box and a booster pack with intact wrapping.

A sealed product is a booster, a display, a set or a figure in factory packaging nobody has opened. For a collector it is the promise that the contents are exactly what the maker put there, and that nobody has picked through them.

Why it matters

Sealed products often grow scarcer over time: once a box is opened it is never "new" again. So the factory wrap and intact seals are part of the value, not just packaging.

How to look the packaging over

  • The wrap is smooth and tight, with no odd folds, tears or traces of glue.
  • The seams are neat and the same on every side.
  • Many products have branded factory wrap — compare it with the maker's official photos.
  • The box is neither sagging nor bulging: nothing should have been taken out and put back.

If something feels off

Do not open it, and photograph the packaging from every side. An opened product can no longer be judged as sealed, and the photos help the seller look into it. At Hobby Kolosa, write to support with such questions and include your order number.

A sleeve, a rigid holder, the right binder and a dry, dark place — four things that keep a card the way it arrived.
